Hard hit by the recession and slow to recover, the best employees here are in entry-level positions, and companies that can offer growth are in a position to get the best people from that group. Quality administrative / clerical candidates are the hardest for companies to find, thus requiring them to turn to executive recruiters for help. Transportation is strong, and drivers--beginner as well as experienced--can find sound employment through the help of recruiting firms that these employers rely upon to perform much of the onboarding such as drug testing.
This state has a growing need in education and health care for quality employees who can bring the right education, experience, and knowledge to the table. Recruiters with good connections and a big 'Rolodex' will be able to help more of these companies fill their positions.
